How long should I take Magnesium? For the rest of your life!
If there was one supplement that everyone on the planet should supplement daily, hands down it is Magnesium, period. I am convinced most Heart Disease and diseases are complications of chronic Magnesium deficiency. I believe God put every mineral, like Magnesium, and also created plants for Vitamins to give our bodies health protection.
To get the most benefits lifelong from Magnesium, Dr. Ardis recommends this daily amount.
10.6mg for every 2.2 lbs of body weight, every day for life.
To determine daily total:
Write down your weight, divide your weight by 2.2. lbs, then multiply that number by 10.6mg for the daily total milligram total of Magnesium you need every day.
For example. If you are 200 lbs
200/2.2=90.90
90.90 X 10.6 = 963
If you are 200 lbs you should be taking 963mg of Magnesium daily, forever.
What if I have a reaction or digestive discomfort? The most common symptoms people may have when supplementing Magnesium is better sleep and possible loose stools.
IMPORTANT: Loose stools do NOT mean that you are allergic to Magnesium. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer and as such, reduces muscle cramping and improves bowel movements are side benefits.
If you put more Magnesium in your body, than your body needs you will get diarrhea. If you experience runny stools for more than 48 hours reduce the dose of Magnesium to a dose that no longer relaxes the bowels too much to lead to loose stools. And as always, feel free to consult your health care professional.
