D3 KEY BENEFITS

High Potency, 5,000 IU Vitamin D3 Supplement.

1. Supports bone health: Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium, which is essential for strong and healthy bones. It can also help prevent osteoporosis, a condition characterized by weakened bones.

2. Boosts immune system: Vitamin D3 has been shown to play a key role in immune function, helping to fight off infections and diseases. It can also help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis.

3. Enhances mood: Research has shown that vitamin D3 can help improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression. This may be because vitamin D3 is involved in the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in regulating mood.

4. Reduces inflammation: Vitamin D3 has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation throughout the body. This can be beneficial for people with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and inflammatory bowel disease.

5. Supports brain health: Vitamin D3 is involved in brain function and may play a role in cognitive function and memory. Studies have also shown that vitamin D3 deficiency may be linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.

6. Regulates insulin levels: Vitamin D3 has been shown to play a role in regulating insulin levels, which can be beneficial for people with diabetes. It may also help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity.

RESEARCH STUDIES

Effect of vitamin D3 supplementation on cellular immunity and inflammatory markers

  • A single-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled pilot trial was conducted. Patients were randomly assigned to receive a weekly oral dose of 60,000 IU of vitamin D3 followed by daily maintenance doses of 5000 IU or placebo.
  • Primary outcomes were lymphocyte counts, natural killer (NK) and natural killer T (NKT) cell counts, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and serum levels of inflammatory markers on 7th day of treatment. On day 7, patients in the vitamin D3 group displayed significantly higher Natural Killer and Natural Killer T-cell counts and Neutraphil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio than those in the placebo group did.
  • Vitamin D3 supplementation, compared with placebo, significantly increased lymphocyte (white blood cell) counts.

Vitamin D Regulation of Immune Function

  • Vitamin D deficiency is associated with an increased risk of SARS-CoV2 and other respiratory infections.
  • Clinical trials in general demonstrate that correction of vitamin D deficiency reduces the risk of hospitalization, ICU admission, and death from SARS-CoV2 infection.
  • Vitamin D and its metabolites promote the innate immune response, which provides the first line of defense against viral and bacterial infections while restricting the adaptive immune response, which if unchecked promotes the inflammatory response leading to the acute respiratory distress syndrome and death.

An Update on the Effects of Vitamin D on the Immune System and Autoimmune Diseases

  • Experimental studies have shown that Vitamin D generates immunologic activities on the innate and adaptive immune system and endothelial membrane stability.
  • Low levels of Vitamin D in the blood is associated with an increased risk of developing immune-related diseases such as psoriasis, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune diseases.
  • The current recommendation is to increase vitamin D intake and have enough sunlight exposure to have serum 25 D at a level of 30 ng/mL and better at 40–60 ng/mL to obtain the optimal health benefits of vitamin D.

The effect of vitamin D supplement on negative emotions: A systematic review and meta-analysis

  • The study is aimed to investigate whether vitamin D supplementation reduces negative emotions and to analyze the possible influence of sample and regimen.
  • Our results support the hypothesis that vitamin D supplementation can reduce negative emotions. Patients with major depressive disorder and individuals with vitamin D deficiency are most likely to benefit from supplementation.

Effect of Vitamin D3 Supplementation on Interleukin 6 and C-Reactive Protein Profile in Athletes

  • The study evaluated the impact of vitamin D3 supplementation on interleukin 6 (IL-6) release during physical exercise in relation to C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in healthy male athletes (inflammatory markers).
  • Twenty-five soccer players were divided into two groups-with and without vitamin D3 supplementation in a dose of 20,000 IU twice a week for 8 wk (about 6,000 IU/d).
  • In the group with (Vit D supplemented), we observed a significant increase in 25 D concentration.... At the baseline, C-reactive protein (CRP) in the supplemented athletes who had suboptimal vitamin D3 concentration in T1 (GSO) was significantly higher than in those with an optimal baseline vitamin D3 level.
